Our Available Positions
Foreman
What will you do?
Our foremen serve as moving supervisors. Your job is critical to the moving process as you determine if the moving team, van, and equipment are prepped and ready to go. As a manager, you need to inspect the moving van, make sure all employees and uniformed and ready to work, and ensure that all of our equipment and tools are safely stored in the van. You will work with our call center and dispatch team to arrive when needed for moving, storage, or junk removal jobs.
What credentials will you need?
We expect all of our foremen to have:
- a high school diploma or GED minimum
- experience working for a moving
and/or storage company - professionalism and strong work ethic
- people-skills
- managerial experience
- fluency in oral and written English
Drivers
What are your duties?
As a driver, you’re responsible for transporting our trucks/vans from one place to another and keeping all employees and equipment safe and intact during transport. You will work very closely with the foreman, making sure to follow directions on where to go and when to arrive. You must employ safe driving practices and adhere to USDOT regulations for truck drivers.
What credentials will you need?

- 2+ years experience truck driving
- clean driving record
- valid driver’s license
- 21+ years of age

Customer Service Associates
What are your responsibilities?
As a customer care associate, you are the first point of contact between prospective customers and Jake’s Moving and Storage. You need to have excellent communication and phone skills to be able to answer clients’ questions about our services and concerns about their move. You will be responsible for scheduling moving dates; dispatching movers and drivers; following up with prospective, past, and current clients; and providing estimates for moving, packing, and storage services.
What are your credentials?
We expect all of our customer care associates to have:
- a high school diploma or GED
- professionalism and strong work ethic
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- call center and/or sales experience
- basic computer and data entry skills
- fluency in oral and written English
Moving Helpers
What will you do?
Moving helpers are responsible for the most important part of the moving process – packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking the truck. You will be working with both the foreman and the client so people skills and professionalism are a must. You will need to follow guidelines for safe packing and wrapping of household and commercial items, as well as best loading and unloading practices. At Jake’s Moving and Storage, we specialize in moving large items and high price items like pianos, antiques, etc. As such, you need to know how to pack and move fragile and bulky items delicately and safely.
What are your credentials?
We expect all of our moving helpers to have:
- a high school diploma or GED minimum
- experience working for a moving and/or storage company
- professionalism and strong work ethic
- people-skills
- good physical shape
- assembling and disassembling home and office furniture
- ability to lift at least 100 lbs on a daily basis
- know how to operate moving equipment proficiently
- fluency in oral and written English
